Handmade...
What does handmade mean exactly? When one of our items is labeled 'handmade' it can mean a couple of things:
👉🏼 We made it from scratch, using a base material (usually gold filled or sterling silver). The piece was created by hammering, bending,
filing, shaping... Like our Wave rings, Spiral rings, Wrist Ribbon bracelets, Curved Staple earrings etc.
👉🏼 We use all sorts of parts and beads and put the item together from these existing parts (chain, clasps, pendants, tags)... Like our Parallel Universe bracelets, Little Charlotte necklaces, Petit Precious necklaces, Shooting Blancs earchains etc.
👉🏼 Another term we sometimes use is HANDFINISHED. This means the item came to us pretty much ready-made and we alter it slightly, for example by hammering it. Like with our Hammered Fine Stacker rings, Hammered Pearly Stacker rings etc..
Items we did not handmake or handfinish don't get labeled. These items were bought by us ready-made and we sell on to you unaltered.
WHY?
Our main material is gold filled, a durable material with a thick layer of 14kt gold. BUT this material is hard to solder. Instead of us practicing on this for many years, making the piece more expensive and maybe not of the best quality, we
choose to leave that to the specialists!
That way you will always get the best possible quality for a fair price.
